If you are in Law Enforcement we need your help. I know you keep a tight rein on your time because of your heavy work load but missing and horse theft victims need your help. There are no Vin numbers on horses so records on missing and stolen horses are hard to find however, did you know there are approximately 40,000-55,000 horses stolen in the US each year? There are 6.1 million horse owners. What are the chances a horse owner will be affected by horse theft this year? Do the math. Stolen Horse International and the NetPosse needs law enforcement to get more involved with the search for stolen horses. This organization does not do your job of enforcement. SHI and the NetPosse are a group of volunteers that number into the thousands who disseminate information, keep eyes open and post flyers. Horses are being found because of the efforts of the horse owners and volunteers around the US and Canada. I am always open to new ways to reach more officers and suggestions.
